Content Management System, esentially is a system where you can easily edit and update website content through a simple management system with a built-in editor.  It does most of the work for you, you link menus and documents, add news articles, post to your blog, and the CMS does all the work for you, generating menus, creating news lists, updating the frontpage and so on.
